Young Inspirations
Theatre Company is a voluntary youth theatre company in excess of 80 children and young people ranging from age 6 to 21 years.
It was established in 1998 and has grown and flourished over the years. It has both junior and senior groups and routinely
runs sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the year.
Children are coached, trained and encouraged in
drama, dance and music skills and children soon flourish and their independance grows. We also encourage them to take
L.A.M.D.A. and Trinity exams to help them in future careers. They are also encouraged to learn about sound equipment, back-stage,
scenery, make-up and costumes.
We do not audition children to join the group
and the group is open to all regardless of race or disability. Each child performs in all the shows we do, finding talents
hitherto unknown.
The company meets at
the Chesterfield Studios and membership fees are kept to a minimum. We are totally self-financed and all the teachers and
helpers are volunteers and receive no remuneration. Funds are raised through subscriptions and ticket money raised from
shows and concerts.
The company produces shows primarily at local theatres
and it is fair to say that the resulting productions are of an outstandingly high calibre. Our children have so far
appeared at our local theatres in Chesterfield and Mansfield, The Nottingham Ice Arena, Buxton Opera House, The
London Palladium, Her Majesty's Theatre, and Pride Park with an audience of 25,000 people.
In addition the company have performed at
a range of charity concerts and local festivals. We will also perform for any local community groups at their request.
